Code of conduct
This Code applies to all members of the Board of Directors, members of committees of the Board of Directors, the Artistic Director, teachers, contractors, volunteers, and cast members. This Code is intended to set out basic principles and provide a clear understanding of the expectations of the parties mentioned above necessary for the fulfilment of their duties and obligations to the Association in a manner intended to foster a culture of honesty, integrity, and accountability.
Expected Behaviours
Discrimination and Harassment: The Association is committed to providing and maintaining an environment free from discrimination, harassment and sexual harassment, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, can contribute fully, and have equal opportunities. The conduct and behaviour must be business-like and free from bias, prejudice, and harassment.
Abuse
The Association maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of abuse, encompassing physical, verbal, and emotional or psychological mistreatment. Physical abuse includes acts such as hitting, punching, kicking, biting, scratching, or hair-pulling, as well as using objects as weapons. Verbal abuse consists of name-calling, insults, yelling, or profanity. Emotional or psychological abuse encompasses ridiculing individuals, their families, friends, or beliefs, making threats, misusing social media to harm others, and wearing clothing with derogatory, hateful, vulgar, or inappropriate messages.
Report a Concern or a Breach of the Code - (Whistleblower Policy)
Members are encouraged to speak up if inappropriate behaviour is observed or experienced or when they become aware of a breach or potential breach of this Code. Questions and/or concerns should be directed to either the President of the Board or the Secretary. All reports, whether written or verbal, will be held in the strictest confidence and may be subject to inclusion of law enforcement or legal disclosure if necessary.
Contact with the Media
Members shall not deal directly with representatives of the media regarding Association matters unless duly authorized by the Board President, or the Artistic Director.
ADDITIONAL CODE OF CONDUCT: PERFORMER-SPECIFIC ITEMS
Performers are expected to attend all rehearsals on time, come prepared with prior rehearsal items rehearsed and warm up prior to rehearsal.
